The Federal Government
has announced a guarantee scheme to protect peoples' deposits in
Banking Institutions through out Australia. A fee will apply
to deposits of more than One Million Dollars.
Most members won't be
affected by the fee, and the government will still guarantee all
deposits up to One Million Dollars with out extra fees.
Capricornia Credit Union is currently reviewing the details
of how the fee to guarantee amounts over One Million dollars will work,
and advise those members affected in the near future.
The guarantee hasn't
changed the way that Capricornia Credit Union conducts its business
with members, and we are just as safe and secure as as we have always
been. It's important to remember that as a credit union, we
have the same levels of oversight and regulation as the big banks.
